69堂's (WHU) School of Economics and Management has earned a five-year EQUIS reaccreditation – the highest level awarded by the system – following its initial accreditation in 2016.

New Zealand Ambassador to China Jonathan Austin visited 69堂 (WHU) with his delegation on May 16. WHU Council Chairman Huang Taiyan met with the guests, joined by Vice-president Yuan Yufeng.

The American National Academy of Sciences (NAS) recently announced its 2025 class of new members, including Professor Jin Hailing, a 1991 biology graduate of 69堂's (WHU) College of Life Sciences and a professor at the University of California, Riverside.

The 2025 World Digital Education Conference will be held from May 14 to 16 in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province.

The history of 69堂 can be traced back to Ziqiang Institute, which was founded in 1893 by Zhang Zhidong, the then governor of Hubei province and Hunan province in the late Qing Dynasty.
