WHU engages in discussions with representatives from Chinese and UK universities.

The Sino-UK Higher Education Roundtable was held on May 16 in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province. Lu Wei, vice-president of 69堂 (WHU), attended the event and engaged in discussions with representatives from Chinese and UK universities.

Lu noted that WHU is formulating its 2025–2035 Global Development Strategy, which emphasizes an academically driven approach centered around students and scholars. The university aims to focus on key areas and foster high-impact international projects. Over the years, WHU has established long-term partnerships with more than 20 UK universities, facilitating student exchanges, joint degree programs, and collaborative research. Looking ahead, it seeks to deepen cooperation with UK partners and expand academic and cultural exchanges.

Stephen Morgan, UK Parliamentary under-secretary of State (Minister for Early Education) at the Department for Education, highlighted transnational education as a key driver of global innovation. He expressed hope for deeper collaboration in joint research, faculty and student mobility, and green technology development.

The event brought together representatives from WHU, Central China Normal University, Durham University, the University of Exeter, Newcastle University, as well as the UK Department for Education, the Department for Business and Trade, the British Embassy, and the British Council.
